description The Cove Palisades State Park is a year-round recreational destination for the entire family. Located in our high desert region, the weather is sunny and warm in the summer months and chilly but generally mild in the winter. The park is situated among towering cliffs that surround beautiful Lake Billy Chinook. For a refreshing change of pace try our cozy deluxe log cabins, which are open year round and located lakeside at The Cove Marina. Reservations can be made by calling (800) 452-5687. A Day Use Pass ($5.00 per day) is required year round at The Cove Palisades. You can also purchase a 12 month pass, a 24 month pass or provide a current camping receipt. Deschutes River Campground is open mid-May through mid-September. Crooked River Campground will close December 15, 2016 through February 15, 2017. Public address systems are not allowed. MAKE SURE YOUR SITE MEETS YOUR CAMPING NEEDS Before reserving, please become familiar with the particulars of your chosen site, including the size of the tent pad area and the type of equipment that you may bring to the park. drivingDirection The Cove Palisades State Park is located approximately 130 miles and 3 hours from the Willamette Valley. From Portland: Take Hwy 26 over Government Camp on Mt. Hood to Madras. Upon entering Madras, stay in the right lane. Turn right on 'D' St (third stoplight). Stay on main road and follow park signs for 14 miles. From Salem: Take Hwy 22 over Santiam Pass through the town of Sisters. On the east side of Sisters, take Hwy 126 to Redmond. At Redmond, turn left or north on Hwy 97. Go for approximately 17 miles to the Culver turn-off. Turn left and follow park signs for approximately 5 miles. Note: The Crooked River Campground (loop E) ) is the first road to the left after passing the park entrance sign. You can find Cabin reservation information at the Crooked River Campground booth. The Cabins are located lakeside at The Cove Marina. Deschutes Campground (loops A, B, C and Group Camp) is located 5 miles from the park entrance through the canyon, across the Crooked River Bridge.

importantInformation Only one vehicle is included with standard camp fees. A second vehicle kept at a campsite (or alternate parking area) is subject to a nightly Extra Vehicle fee. The nightly Extra Vehicle fee is currently $7.00. Overflow parking is ONLY available for boat trailers that do not fit in the site or on the parking pad. All vehicles must park on asphalt. The Cove Palisades State Park features two overnight campgrounds separated by a distance of five miles. The Crooked River Campground consists of E loop and Cabins. It is located on the top of the canyon and provides electric and water hook-ups only (a dump station is near the entrance). Crooked River Campground removes some sites from reservations September through April, and will be closed for the season December 15, 2016 through February 15, 2017. Cabins are located lakeside at The Cove Marina and are open year round. Cabin and Gate access codes can be found in the Security Alerts section of your confirmation letter. You will need this information to enter Cabin area. Deschutes Campground consists of A, B, and C loops and Group Camps. It is located 5 miles from the park entrance down in the canyon bottom and provides full hookup and tent sites. Deschutes River Campground is open mid-May through mid-September. Neither campground has lakefront campsites. All pets must be kept on a 6 foot leash, under physical control at all times and never left unattended. There is an $8 reservation fee per site reserved. An $8 transaction fee is charged for any date or site changes made to an existing reservation. *Reservations for more than five nights/days that are later changed to fewer nights/days by cancelling nights at the end of the stay will only pay an $8 transaction fee.
